The Town of Derby (pop. app. 11,000) is located between Ansonia and Shelton in the Naugatuck River valley along highway Route 8. The town, which has manufacturing roots, produces automobile parts and rubber gaskets, and formerly manufactured printers and inks, as well as being home to steel and brass foundries.
