Paints for Rubber
Bringing people together (STEPHEN M. DOWELL/ORLANDO SENTINEL) It's hard to get a straight ... Making good impressions...
Zellen is the owner of the Stamping Station, one of many Central Florida craft stores catering to the increasingly popular hobby of stamping -- a craft that uses rubber stamps, colored inks and a plethora of accessories to create greeting cards, customize stationery and decorate memory books.
Who could resist? The company is lively, the craft easy to master. And with Mother's Day and Father's Day on the horizon, a couple of lovingly handcrafted cards would be useful.
Nine stampers settle in around the tables, chatting and teasing. Most are regulars in this Saturday-morning class. They come from Apopka, Leesburg, Clermont. Several are retirees in their 60s. Two are teachers. Kacey Mote, a second-grader from Sanford, is the youngest. She and her mother, Terri Mote, 37, took up stamping five years ago.
